Ayrshire’s Wee Fish Van was established in December 2020, during the Pandemic. Bernadette, the founder, was a First Class trained Long Haul Stewardess with British Airways for over 22 years. She travelled all over the world from Hong Kong to Singapore to Japan, to the USA, now she travels all over the USofA (Uther Side of Ayrshire), in her mobile fish vans.
Bernadette took redundancy in August 2020. With the help of her trawlerman husband Douglas, she created Ayrshire’s Wee Fish Van. Offering a door-to-door delivery service as well as being invited to markets and venues selling her fresh fish and seafood. Due to increased demand, she now has 2 mobile fish vans on the go with room for expansion.
In December 2022 she won Scottish Businesswoman of the Year Award for Micro Business of the Year 2022.
